I stumbled across this gift the other day and thought it would be great to share with others. I have only seen them in one or two shops in Australia.
They are known as Shippons. This comes from the Japanese word "shippo" which means tail. This is basically a self watering plant / herb that uses the tail to suck up water and allows the herb to grow. All you need to do is keep adding water to the cup when i gets a bit low.
Be careful, these things are addictive. Every morning you will find yourself waking up to see if your seeds have started to sprout. This is half the fun!! Give them a little bit of sunlight and the seeds should sprout within a week.
These are great for the office desk, in the kitchen, in a child's room or anywhere really. I think they would make a great gift for anyone especially coming up to christmas.
